About the Artist

Meet Vedashree Sangwikar, a lifelong trained professional Bharatnatyam dancer. She embarked on her dance journey at the age of six, exploring not only Bharatnatyam but also contemporary and Indian folk dance forms.

With 20 years of performing experience, Vedashree is not just a dancer but a seasoned storyteller through movement. Her teaching and facilitating experience of 5-6 years reflects her commitment to passing on the rich heritage of Bharatnatyam to aspiring dancers.

Vedashree’s achievements include completing her Aarengtram and Bharatnatyam dance levels under the guidance of Smt. Gayatri Subramanyam and Nruthanjali Academy of Classical Dance. She has also earned recognition for her skills, having given Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyala Visharad Pratham Bharatnatyam levels, learning from esteemed teachers like Smt. Alka Lajmi, a disciple of Smt. Smita Mahajan and Smt. Sucheta Bhide Chafekar. Sucheta followed the Guru Shishya tradition passed down by stalwarts like Acharya Parvatikumar of Bombay and Guru K.P.Kittappa of Tanjore. Notably, Sucheta considers Smt. Balasaraswati as her “Manasa Guru.”
