The Alliance for California Traditional Arts wishes the California Arts Council a very happy anniversary, as it kicks off its 40th year celebration.  ACTA is proud to be the CAC’s official statewide partner in serving the folk & traditional arts field, and looks forward to another 40 years of making the arts flourish.

The ACTA board and staff attended the gala event at the Crest Theater in Sacramento on January 27 hosted by Annette Bening and featuring a dazzling line up of speakers and performers including Governor Jerry Brown and the National Poet Laureate – Fresno’s Juan Felipe Herrera, and several traditional arts icons such as the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, PJ and Roy Hirabayashi, the Great Wall Youth Orchestra, Ballet Folklorico de Sacramento, among others.

The California Arts Council traveled across the state to film some of the inspiring people making an impact in their communities through art and creative expression.  The Alliance for California Traditional Arts is one of the featured California nonprofits.  Over the coming months, the CAC will be sharing a new video each week via their Facebook page.  This week they released a sneak peek of the upcoming videos:

California Arts Council: My Creative CA

We recently traveled across California to film some of the inspiring people making an impact in their communities through art and creative expression. Over the next couple of months, we’ll be sharing a new video here each week. Here’s a sneak peek that was previewed at our 40th anniversary celebration in Sacramento this week. #MyCreativeCA #CAarts40
