Selma Arts Foundation

The Selma Arts Foundation aims to enrich the lives of all people in the southern part of Fresno County by promoting and celebrating the arts in all forms.

In 2015, a grant from ACTA’s Living Cultures Grants Program will support the Selma Arts Foundation’s Bhangra Project.  The Bhangra Project will expand the outreach of the Selma Arts Foundation, and its partner the Selma Arts Council, to the Punjabi population and allow them to provide education and a demonstration of bhangra, which refers to several types of folk dances from the Punjab region of India.  In addition to public bhangra performances, the project will include an educational seminar for youth taught by Punjabi bhangra dance instructors.
