Mahsa Vahdat Voice Studio

Persian traditional music

The Mahsa Vahdat Voice Studio is led by traditional Persian singer and setar musician Mahsa Vahdat, who has been a professional musician and teacher for over three decades. Mahsa Vahdat has performed at many acclaimed music festivals throughout the world and has released a series of award-winning records. She has been living in the Bay Area and working with the local Iranian-American community for over 5 years, and has collaborated with a variety of cultural organizations, including Diaspora Arts, Kronos Quartet, San Francisco Girls Chorus, and Kitka, with whom she has worked closely as a Kitka Institute teaching artist.

In 2021, a grant from ACTA’s Living Cultures Grants Program will support Mahsa Vahdat Voice Studio in presenting a workshop series in traditional Persian music and vocals. Ten free, 2-hour workshops will be offered to the Iranian-American community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
