With support from the Mayor’s Office of Protocol, the Brazilian Consulate and the Brazilian community, the Friends of Brazil/Bay Area Brazilian Club, in collaboration with Kidoideira Productions, will host a festive celebration of Brazilian Independence Day.
This will be a fun day of lively entertainment for the whole family. There will be Brazilian music, (Forró, Samba, Axê, Brazilian country music), Capoeira (Brazilian martial arts), and an animated Carnaval Parade with the colorful Aquarela dancers (who will also offer a spirited samba demo and class).
Children’s activities will include face painting and demonstrations of children’s capoeira. A very special treat for young and old alike, new this year, will be enchanting and enthralling performances from an authentic Brazilian clown, Brazuka.
In addition to all the exciting entertainment, there will be varied and captivating displays of arts and crafts from Bay Area Brazilian artists. And to satisfy all tastes, there will be several stands selling delicious, genuine Brazilian food and drink from different parts of Brazil.
