The Central California Alliance for the Preservation of Mariachi was founded in 2002 to address the need to document and preserve the traditional style of mariachi music, and to record, transcribe, and preserve the stories of Mariachi musicians in the United States, California and the Central Valley. CCAPM now actively works in three major program areas, Honors Mariachi Music Program, Teacher Capacity Building, and Heritage and Cultural Preservation.
