Come to Exploratorium After Dark presents  ‘Imiakea: Navigating Polynesian Art and Science, an evening of Hawaiian music, Polynesian navigation and hands-on science.

Visitors will be immersed in traditional Hawaiian culture as Wendeanne Ke’aka Stitt, a traditional Hawaiian kapa cloth maker, shows how she turns ordinary tree bark into wonderfully patterned cloth. Additionally, Aileen Camello of Aloha Leis will demonstrate how she makes beautiful leis that are synonymous with Hawaii. Aileen will also be working with guests to make their own leis to take home. Many other artists will be on hand.

Exploratorium After Dark is new extended evening hours on the first Thursday of every month at the Exploratorium that mix cocktails, conversation, and adult-oriented programming in science and the arts. Each night showcases a different theme, which might include live performances, films, and new media, or feature cutting-edge technology and unexpected extravaganzas.

After Dark is included in the price of admission to the Exploratorium.
