Armenian Museum

Armenian arts and culture

The Armenian Museum was founded in 2003 to serve as an institution to provide cultural and historical information about the Armenian people, with an emphasis on those who settled in the Central Valley at the turn of the twentieth century.  Equally, the objectives of the organization are to maintain an active Armenian-oriented cultural program for the visual and performing arts.

in 2008, the Armenian Museum received a grant from ACTA's Living Cultures Grants Program to present an evening of traditional Armenian music with oud virtuoso Richard Hagopian and his ensemble, including his then twelve-year-old grandson Phillip Hagopian, also on oud.  The Hagopians will also participate in a Family Day program at the Fresno Art Museum, “Meet the Instrument,” which will feature the oud.  The performances were in coordination with the museum's year-long William Saroyan Centennial.
