Neshkinukat Gathering

Neshkinukat is the California native Artists' network, one of the statewide infrastructure groups supported by the California Arts Council, and works to develop a unified voice. The recent Northern California meeting featured an opportunity to have work photographed for an artists' directory (both print and web) and network with one another on ways to promote, exhibit, and strengthen visibility of Native artists' in California.
Scholarships are available to cover travel, on-site lodging, and meals on a first-come basis by sending an email request/RSVP to:

“Entren Santos Peregrinos . . . Devotional Arts and Celebrations”
December 4, 2003 through
January 10, 2004
Arte Americas, 1630 Van Ness Ave., Fresno
“Entren Santos Peregrinos” is an exhibition of photographs documenting the devotional arts and celebrations surrounding the birth of Christ as practiced by Mexican Americans living in Los Angeles and the San Joaquin Valley of Central California. The exhibit features the holiday season from December 12, the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, to February 2, el Dia de la Candelaria (Candlemas).
The exhibit was organized by the Fresno Arts Council and Alliance for California Traditional Arts with funding from the California Arts Council.
