ADVOCACYAction Alert - June 8, 2004The Members of the Joint Budget Conference committee will likely be reviewing the California Arts Council budget today. The Assembly Budget Subcommittee augmented the CAC budget by $10 million placing the budget at $11.075. The Senate Budget Subcommittee recommended the CAC at the same level as the Governors' Budget at $1.075 million, the same as the current 2003-2004 budget. The Joint Budget Conference committee is meeting to settle differences. It is important that they hear from the arts field today. TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION: Please fax the legislators below. Urge them to vote for the Assembly Budget sub-committee #4's recommendation to augment the California Arts Council (Item 8260) budget by $10 million (for a total general fund budget of $11.075 million).
